Yes. This is the heart of Maksud Retail POS. Every sale, refund and login runs against a local database on the till itself, so a full shift carries on even if your internet disappears completely. A background worker quietly syncs everything to the cloud the moment you're back online, and the sync is designed so nothing is ever lost or duplicated.
What hardware does it work with?
The till runs as a Windows app on standard touchscreen PC tills. Out of the box it supports USB barcode scanners, CAS weighing scales for loose produce, Epson TM-T88-class thermal receipt printers, cash drawers, and RFID/NFC readers for staff badge login. If you're unsure about your existing hardware, just ask. We'll confirm compatibility before you commit.
How are card payments handled?
Card payments are taken on your standalone card terminal and recorded against the sale on the till, so your end-of-day records stay complete. Card data itself never touches the till, which keeps it entirely outside PCI scope and your compliance burden to a minimum.
Can I run multiple stores and tills?
Yes. Every till belongs to a branch, staff are assigned per branch, and promotions can target one branch or all of them. The cloud back office gives you one place to manage your catalogue and team across every location.
How do promotions work?
Product discounts, multibuys (like 'any 3 for £3'), buy-one-get-one-free and bundle deals all run on the till. They apply themselves automatically, so cashiers never need to remember an offer, and savings show as their own line on the basket. Promotions can be scheduled with start and end dates and target one branch or all of them, and we'll set yours up with you as part of onboarding.
How is staff access controlled?
Staff sign in with a personal PIN or a tap of their RFID badge. Three roles (cashier, supervisor and manager) control exactly who can do what. Sensitive actions like discounts and refunds require manager approval, and every no-sale drawer open is recorded in the audit trail. All of it syncs to the cloud.
Does it handle age-restricted products?
Yes. Products can be flagged 16+, 18+ or 21+. Scanning one pauses the sale until the cashier confirms the age check, and every approval is recorded for compliance.
